OHYESLORD is a streetwear brand founded by Hamilton Thindisa, a young Johanneburg based designer. The brand creates clothing with a vision founded in quirkiness, youthfulness, having fun & self confidence. THE HOLIDAY BOYSCOUTS is a sub-brand under OHYESLORD and its more of an “impulsive, rebellious and a more laid back vibe and feel towards style”. We spoke to Hamilton to find out more about the brand.
Why did you choose the name OHYESLORD?

The phrase OHYESLORD comes from a sort of exclamation of giving praise for a blessing or for the good in your life. I decided to name the brand this because I felt I had just discovered what my purpose was and that was my blessing.

What’s your target market?
To put it more formally we target individuals between the ages of 15 – 27 but it’s really for the young, rebellious, outspoken, carefree generation that, more than anything, believe in their own purpose. Anybody that fearlessly goes after what they believe in.

How would you describe this range?
HOLIDAYS is essentially a collection under the OHYESLORD sub-brand, THE HOLIDAY BOYSCOUTS. It’s based off a carefree, easy-going, summer vacation vibe with items like the baby blue and the red zebra combo pieces and pink and white oversized t-shirts with bold printing. But it further narrates a HOLIDAY that went wrong and wasn’t as perfect as I thought it would be – inspiring the full grey combo and the grey and white jail-bird combo, rounding off the bad holiday with a night shoot for the range.

You can expect a lot more conceptual ranges and growth from the brand. We’re only getting started.
