Last week was London Fashion Week and we brought you all the highlights from the first fashion show of the AW16 Season. Now we shift our focus to Milan, our favourite out of all the fashion weeks, because let’s face it – Italians are quite simply artisans when it comes to menswear. These were our top shows from the Milan Fashion Week.

Prada makes a Comeback

Over the past few seasons Prada hasn’t been an innovative brand, presenting many ideas but never executing them well. Prada has become a brand that only produces one or two really amazing pieces in a season. For AW16, Miuccia Prada combined historic and modern elements to present the naval-inspired comeback collection for Prada. It consisted of modern sailor wear and key pieces included waxed, loose-fit denim, sailor hats and sailor coats with embellishments.

Dolce & Gabbana are Self-Obsessed

For their latest men’s collection, D&G chose a Wild West theme with an Italian twist. The collection featured large fur coats, shirts printed with cowboy imagery and beautifully embellished jackets. The models were also given tablets so they could take selfies as they walked down the runway.

Philipp Plein’s Heroic Approach

Inspired by DC and Marvel superheroes, Philipp presented a serious collection that featured the easily recognisable symbols from characters like Spiderman, Batman and Iron Man. His designs, including detailed jackets, pants and boots, proved that men’s fashion can be fun and adventurous.
