Leading South African retailer, Edgars, is launching a 73 piece denim collection with fashion design institute, Lisof.
The collection came about as the result of a stringent selection process, where students were given cues from street culture, the history of denim and pop culture as a spring board.
Four students were chosen as semi-finalists and one, Kearabetswe Sekati, was chosen as the overall winner of the competition.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Lisof, who are known to have produced some of the most creative and celebrated designers in the country. We know that our consumers will love the final collection” said Shamala Reddy, Executive Buyer for Ladieswear at Edgars.
The denim used to produce the collection has been locally sourced, and forms part of Edcon’s sustainability efforts, and is one of the many ways the retailer is playing its part in creating a more socially responsibly society.
The collection will be launched officially at the Edgars store in Menlyn, Pretoria in August 2017.
